Solar Collectors
Evacuated tube collectors are the ideal collector for domestic hot water heating applications. Engineered Solar Solutions' solar thermal evacuated tube collectors efficiently convert solar energy into useable heat. Our collectors passively track the sun, providing stable solar conversion throughout the day and can provide usable heat in cloudy, cold, windy or humid weather. Each solar collector consists of a highly insulated heat transfer manifold and a row of high-absorption solar collector tubes.
Evacuated Tubes
Each tube actually consists of two durable borosilicate glass tubes. The inner tube is coated with an advanced solar selective coating with high thermal efficiency, and the space between the tubes is evacuated to virtually eliminate heat loss by conduction and convection. A heat pipe uses an evaporating-condensing cycle to continuously absorb solar radiation and to efficiently transfer the heat to the condenser at the top of the heat pipe.
Manifold
The manifold consists of a copper header pipe insulated with compressed rock wool insulation and encased in durable steel casing. Water, glycol, or other heat transfer fluids flow through the manifold copper header pipe and collects the heat from the top of the tube heat pipes.
